JEFF TIMMER, who was recently featured on our popular series, The Story of the Universe, has revealed the tragic death of his son MEKBUL. “I am devastated,” Timmer said. “I have lost my best friend. He was my rock.”
MEKBUL’S passing comes just a few days after the release of the first season of The Story of the Universe. Timmer says that he had been working on the series for years, but the process took a new turn after he found out that his son was sick. “When I started this project, I was focused on my family,” Timmer said. “I was in denial about MEKBUL’s illness and I was afraid to talk to anyone about it. I was afraid of how they would react.

Since then, the family has been working tirelessly to ensure Jeff’s name is remembered through his legacy, The Jeff Timmer Memorial Project. This project is a unique and special tribute to Jeff which honors the memory of him and his love for music.
It also helps bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving, which contributed to this tragic event. The Project is being spearheaded by the Jeff Timmer Memorial Foundation. It will provide scholarships to students attending schools in the area, help with medical bills, and will work toward creating a music program in the community to keep Jeff’s memory alive. In December of 2013, the Foundation was able to raise enough money to build a park where Jeff would have loved to play. This park will be dedicated to Jeff on April 12th, 2014.

Jeff Timmer’s Son Mekbul Timmer was found dead inside their home in the morning hours of January 12th. According to Jeff’s wife. Mekbul was found by her husband in the bathroom of their home and when he came out of the room. He saw a dead body. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
The cause of death has not been confirmed at this time. But it is being investigated as a homicide. At this time. No other details are available.
